Childbirth Education Services
I offer childbirth education classes to help expectant parents about the birth process and what to expect. This will build trust
and confidence in themselves to get through labor and birth. Childbirth classes are offered in small groups from anywhere
between 3 - 6 weeks depending on the class you want to attend. Class schedules are TBD at this time. To better fit your
schedule I also offer private classes (2 days, 3 hours each session) in the comfort of your own home. The topics covered
will include childbirth preparation, hospital interventions, breastfeeding and relaxation. Other topics included, but are not
limited to, nutrition, father's role in birth, hospital procedures, and comfort measures. For more information on private
classes please contact me.
As a birth/ postpartum doula here is what I do not do:
* Perform clinical tasks, such as blood pressure, fetal heart checks, vaginal exams, and others. I am there to provide only
physical comfort, emotional support and advocacy
*Make decisions for you. I will help you get the information necessary to make an informed decision. I will also remind you if
there is a departure from your birth plan
*Speak to the staff instead of you regarding matters where decisions are being made. I will discuss your concerns with you
and suggest options, but you or your partner will speak on your behalf to the clinical staff
*Diagnose medical conditions for the mother or the baby
*Take over the care of the baby
*Advance money for purchases such as groceries and prescriptions, instead I ask for you to provide cash
*Heavy cleaning of the home such as mopping or cleaning tubs
Prices are not listed as they are based on a case to case basis and which services you choose. If you have
special circumstances like going through a divorce, unemployment or other difficulties, please let me know as we
can work together to come to a common ground. I am here for YOU, so let me help YOU!
